It hasn’t been suffocating under plastic and languishing away on a shelf for who knows how long. We also cut to your specifications. Only need an 1/8th of a pound? Farmstead vs. Artisan vs. Industrial
What does farmstead mean? What is the difference between farmstead and artisan? Simply put, farmstead cheese is hand-made cheese produced on the farm from the farmers own herd. Artisan cheese can be made with milk produced elsewhere, but it is also made by hand. Industrial cheese is made by machine, with most of the human element taken out of the process.
Farmstead and artisan cheeses have character. Each cheese is different, depending on all sorts of factors, like what the animals were eating at that time of year. It’s this character that gets us excited each time we cut into a new wheel! Let us be your tour guides!
